To jump-start Carissa Mortgage, I’ve decided to share a list of things I’m enjoying or contemplating.
Book I’m reading —
Man’s Search for Meaning (Viktor E. Frankl) – Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl’s chilling memoir Man’s Search for Meaning chronicles his experiences during WWII as an Auschwitz concentration camp inmate. Illustrative and insightful, Frankl argues that suffering can give life meaning. Frankl goes on to theorize that the “greatest task for any person is to find meaning in his or her life.”
What I’m drinking —
Russell Vineyard Syrah. A business associate who shares my love for wine recommended the 2015 vintage and to say the least, I was blown away by the complexity and finesse of each sip. Based in Healdsburg, CA, Russell Vineyards offers exquisite juice – and at $30 a bottle, it doesn’t break the bank.
Latest Adventure —
Last Friday, I visited Muir Woods National Monument on Mount Tamalpais near the Pacific Coast. The trees stood tall and strong, and the only thing bigger than the sea of redwoods framing the gray sky was the smile on my face.
Most popular snack in my pantry —
Go Macro Bar. Gluten free and vegan, this bar packs a powerful nutritional punch. My favorite flavor is peanut butter and chocolate (because there really is no better combo).
Quote I’m pondering —
“Tomorrow is tomorrow. Future cares have future cures, and we must mind today.” – Sophocles
Show(s) I’m watching —
Six, The Selection, Alone and Vikings – all on the History Channel.
Most played radio station this week —
Duane Allman radio station on Spotify.
Thanks for reading!
